Poulbot, as he was known, created this Christmas card for collector-historian Bella C. Landauer in 1928. He specialized in drawing children, often using as models those of his concierge, Mme. Hourdequin. The image was drawn in reverse on the lithographic s tone. When inked and printed the image appeared in its proper orientation.
